Lixia LUO is Professor of Ophthalmology & Ph.D. Supervisor, the director of the General Administration Office in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University. Dr. Luo has been engaged in cataract prevention and clinical research for more than two decades. She is experienced in phacoemulsification cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation.

Dr. Luo earned her PhD degree at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center and completed residency in ophthalmology at ZOC and as a research fellowship in Ophthalmology at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University. In her research, Dr. Luo focuses on cataract prevention and treatment, combined with lens development and regeneration. Dr. Luo conducts 3 research programs supported from General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Lancet, British Medical Journal (BMJ), Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology (AJO), Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS), etc. She is a member of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
