Prof. Huang is a chief attending ophthalmologist and professor in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC), Sun Yat-sen University. She has been working as an ophthalmologist since 1997.
As a clinical doctor, Prof. Huang provides more than 7000 outpatient service a year, and performs more than 500 intraocular operations a year. As a professor, she is the tutor of postgraduates, undergraduates and residents. In addition, she is the teaching supervisor in Sun Yat-sen University and in charge of residency training program in ZOC. As a clinical scientist, her research focuses on neuroprotection and ophthalmic imaging, especially on glaucoma. She has published over 70 articles in professional journals (including Ophthalmology, IOVS, Retina, Journal of Glaucoma, Journal of Neurochemistry, Molecular Neurobiology, etc), and more than 10 chapters in professional monograph. She is the principal investigator of 11 research projects on ophthalmology, including 2 projects from Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 projects from Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, etc.
