Prof. Hungwon Tchah is Professor of Department of Ophthalmology at University of Ulsan and Section Chief of the Anterior Segment, Ophthalmology at Asan Medical Center. Prof. Tchah’s expertise includes corneal disease, cataract, refractive and laser surgery.
Prof. Tchah graduated from Medical College, Seoul National University and trained in Seoul National University Hospital and University of Minnesota Hospital & Clinic. He has been working for University of Ulsan and Asan Medical Center since 1989 as a professor, a surgeon and a researcher. He has published almost 250 peer reviewed journal articles, mainly corneal refractive surgery, cataract and IOL, corneal surface diseases and tissue regeneration.
Prof. Tchah served as President (2016 - 2018) and Director of Academic Affairs on the Korean Ophthalmological Society. He, also, served as President (2009-2011) and General Secretary of the Korean Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and as Head (2007-2009) of the Korean Corneal Disease Study Group. He also served on Korean External Eye Disease Society, and Korean Contact Lens Society. He is currently a member of the Board of Officers of the APACRS and Regional Editor in Chief of the Korean editions of EyeWorld.
