Alexander K. Schuster holds the professorship for ophthalmic health service research at the University Medical Center Mainz. He studied medicine and medical physics at Medical Faculty Mannheim of the University of Heidelberg and completed his doctorate at the Mannheim Institute for Public Health. In addition, he is studying epidemiology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Prof. Schuster is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a special interest in glaucoma. His research interests are ophthalmological epidemiology and health care research focusing on the occurrence of eye diseases and their risk factors in the general population and at ophthalmological care structures.
