Dr. Ng is Professor and Laboratory Director at the Joint Shantou International Eye Center of Shantou University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He graduated in biochemistry from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2006 and completed his PhD research program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010, followed by 2-year post-doctoral training in Miami Veterans Affair Medical Center, the United States. Dr. Ng joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013 as Assistant Professor. He is an active invited speaker for international conferences and institutions in Asia and the United States and has over 50 publications in the fields of visual science. His current research interests focus on the molecular genetics, pathological mechanisms as well as the development of novel treatments, especially stem cells and herbal medicine, for different ocular diseases.
