Yali Jia is the Jennie P. Weeks Professor of Ophthalmology and Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).
Dr. Jia received her Biomedical Engineering PhD degree in Optical Imaging from OHSU under the mentorship of Prof. Ricky Wang. Following 1-year postdoc training under the guidance of Prof. David Huang, she established a specialized team and co-direct Center for Ophthalmic Optics & Lasers Lab (coollab.net) at Casey Eye Institute.
Dr. Jia’s primary research area is functional OCT (OCT angiography, OCT oximetry, etc). Her work has led to major breakthroughs that transitioned OCT angiography from a purely research technology to the clinic. Her other interests are high-performance OCT prototypes, nanoparticle enhanced imaging, and artificial intelligence.
