Dr. Molins graduated in Chemical Engineering at Institut Quimic de Sarria, Ramon Llull University in 2004. In 2009 she completed her PhD in vascular biology and inflammation in the University of Barcelona. She has performed several research stages abroad during her predoctoral and post-doctoral training including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA, US), The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA, US) and the University of Bristol (Bristol, UK). In 2011 she joined the Group of Ocular Inflammation at IDIBAPS-Hospital Clinic where she studies the contribution of the inflammatory component in the pathogenesis of retinal disorders such as uveítis, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She works at the interface of bioengineering, stem cell biology, molecular biology, and cell biology with a significant input from the clinical point of view in order to address the unanswered questions that arise from the clinical practice. Dr Molins has authored over 40 peer reviewed articles and regularly serves as a reviewer for international journals.
