Dr. Pellegrini earned his medical degree from the University of Pisa and completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the S.Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital in Bologna. Afterwards he completed an additional year of subspecialty training in Cornea/External Disease at Ospedali Privati Forlì “Villa Igea” in Forlì under the mentorship of Prof. Massimo Busin.

Currently he is a consultant at the Department of Ophthalmology of Ospedali Privati Forlì "Villa Igea". Since 2021 he holds a position of Researcher at the Department of Translational Medicine of the University of Ferrara. His research interests include cataract surgery and corneal transplantation. Dr. Pellegrini is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO).
