Research Interest: glaucoma surgery; pediatric glaucoma

Dr. Matteo Sacchi is consultant and head of Glaucoma Service at the San Giuseppe Hospital, Milan. Dr. Sacchi is a glaucoma specialist. The main interests of Dr. Sacchi are glaucoma surgery, including tube, mini invasive and non penetrating surgery, pediatric glaucoma and complex cases as malformative and syndromic forms.Dr. Sacchi earned his Medical Degree at University of Milano-Bicocca and his residency in Ophthalmology at University of Milan. He completed his training at the Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester, and at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami.

Dr. Sacchi serves as tutor of the University of Milan in the medical school and residency in ophthalmology training program and is also committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduate, graduate, medical students, and orthoptist students. He has been involved as principal investigator in clinical trials on medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma.

He has authored numerous papers published in peer reviewed ophthalmological journals and book chapters. He serves as reviewer of several ophthalmology journal and has been invited to lecture in local and international meetings.

He is member of the Global Consult Bureau of the World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, of the scientific board of SIGLA (Italian Glaucoma Society), and of the Italian Society of Ophthalmology (SOI).
