Dr. Al-Mohamed Al-Shabrawey is a Professor at Dental and Medical Colleges of Georgia, Augusta University, USA. His research focuses on studying the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurovascular dysfunction in retinal diseases particularly diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. He has established the role of several signaling pathways such as bioactive lipids, oxidative stress and bone morphogenetic proteins in these diseases. He published ~ 60 publications and participated in several national and international meetings. He is peer reviewer to several scientific journals and funding organizations.
