Minzhong Yu is the director of Ophthalmic Electrophysiology, University Hospitals Eye Institute and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Yu completed his BSc degree at University of Science and Technology of China, China in 1983; MMed degree at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University (i.e. Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences), China in 1989, and PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Optometry, China in 1998. He completed post-doctoral training and then serves as a Project Staff at Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Yu has published about 90 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is the first editor of “Handbook of Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision” (Springer, 2019), a topic editor of journal “Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology”, and an editorial board member of journal “BMC Ophthalmology” . He has been awarded research grants as PI, including NIH R01 grant, ARVO travel grant, and the honorary title of Visiting Professor of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University.
